Our doctors are proven back experts and are specialised in the treatment of diseases and injuries to the spine. Minimum-invasive surgery and gentle interventions

Particular specialisations of our work are microsurgery and minimum-invasive surgery. With an operating technique which is extremely sparing and gentle on the tissue, small cuts are made through which operations which previously led to severe scarring and correspondingly long post-operative treatment periods, are performed in a far gentler and safer way with far less damage to the body This means patients are fully capable of actively returning to their everyday life far faster than before.

The latest technologies. Maximum safety for our patients

The operating theatres of the clinic are technologically state-of-the-art. The steps are precisely planned before the intervention. In the case of microsurgical operations, up to 40-fold magnifications are used, which means that all structures are clearly visible and extremely gentle operating is possible with minimum or no damage. By using computer-aided systems, bolts can be positioned with precision to the nearest fraction of a millimetre. Operations therefore become considerably safer for patients.

National and international model

In our spinal surgery department, worldwide recognised experts work hand in hand. Prof. Dr. H. Michael Mayer, consultant, and his colleagues Dr. Andreas Korge and Dr. Christoph Siepe, also consultants and spinal surgeons have also acquired an excellent international reputation through the development of numerous operating techniques and special instruments for spinal operations. Guest doctors from all over the world regularly visit our clinic to find out about these techniques.

Follow-up care and rehabilitation

We work closely with the Schön Klinik Berchtesgadener Land and our in-house outpatient rehabilitation centre. We pass our patients on to experienced therapists for their rehabilitation. Close professional exchange and short communication channels as well as personal contact with the colleagues providing the further treatment are a large advantage for our patients and prerequisite for the greatest possible treatment success.
