Schön Kliniken Quality Management
Our company philosophy assumes a continuous guarantee and improvement of quality. As the first General Hospital in Schleswig-Holstein, the Schön Klinik Neustadt was certified in Autumn 1999 according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 norms. Additionally, in its capacity as a Clinic for Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, it was certified according to the quality principles of the German Association for Medical Rehabilitation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Medizinische Rehabilitation e.V.) (DEGEMED) as well as achieving the "Medical Rehabilitation in Examined Quality" seal of distinction from the Federal Land of Schleswig-Holstein. Our target is a continuous improvement of the standard of treatment, the organisation and treatment processes within the framework of problem-free care tailored to the individual patient.
Quality Representative & Quality Manager
All the Schön Kliniken staff take care in maintaining the quality of services. But every clinic has employees that are especially responsible for the different aspects of quality. There is therefore a quality representative in every clinic. The quality representative is responsible for quality of the provision of medical services. They are selected from the management positions (Consultant, Nursing Manager, Speciality Registrar, Therapy Manager) and is usually, as a rule, a full-time employee in patient care. They have received extra training in quality management and are relieved from normal duties for the interests of quality management as needed. Alongside the quality representative every clinic has a quality manager. The quality manager is responsible for the quality management in the strictest sense and takes care of special quality management tasks such as, certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001.
Quality Reports - Transparency beyond the statutory guidelines
Patients who are over the age of consent require a basis of decisionmaking: the Schön Kliniken quality reports exceed the stipulated standards.
In order to make the quality of a hospital more transparent, the legislative body have decided that a quality report must be published every two years. Independent from this, we have created a new quality report format. With clearly laid out pictures and texts we are able to present the medical standards in a transparent and comprehensible way.

The statutory report section 137 Schön Klinik Neustadt
In order to ensure transparency regarding the quality of a hospital for patients, cost bearers and referring health professionals, the legislature decided that all clinics in Germany must publish a quality report every 2 years.
