The aim of rehabilitation is to restore optimal physical and mental performance.

The aim of the therapy concepts of rehabilitation (rehab) is to restore optimal physical and mental performance. The fact that our doctors are active both in the field of rehabilitation and in the field of conservative and surgical acute medicine means we can offer you a particularly wide range of specialist medical qualifications. The medical team in rehabilitation consists of experienced specialists in orthopaedics, surgery, trauma surgery, internal medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitative medicine with the additional qualifications in special pain management, rheumatology, sports medicine, physical therapy, chiropractic, geriatric medicine, alternative medicine, acupuncture and social medicine.

Post-hospital curative treatment.

Follow-up treatment is a preparation for the post-hospitalization phase in a domestic and professional environment. The treatment and information programs are aimed at restoring the function and relieving pain for the patient.

Rehabilitation of orthopaedic, trauma surgery and spinal surgery illnesses.

The combination of intensive physical and physiotherapeutic measures lead to a reduction in postoperative discomfort and the rapid healing of wounds. The different forms of physical therapy, in individual therapy and in groups, in dry exercising as well as in the physiotherapy pool lead to an early restoration of bodily functions. Swelling lymph drainage and pain reduction electric therapy or ultrasound therapy are but a few components of the supporting range of therapies. The supply of aids for the period after rehabilitation is one of the tasks of ergotherapy. Our graduates in sports science take care of you during medical training therapy.

Integrated care for knee and hip endoprostesis.

The therapeutic strategy of an optimally coordinated combination of acute therapy and rehabilitation under one roof ensures the quickest possible restoration of everyday life for our patients after joint replacement surgery.

Orthopaedic pain therapy and multimodal pain therapy in rehabilitation.

The holistic treatment is at the forefront of the treatment of pain. Not only physically intensive and physiotherapy treatments will be provided. Multimodal pain therapy is well-established for chronic pain conditions that have already led, in many cases, to an impact on the psyche and the social environment. The bio-psycho-social treatment approach includes some additional relaxation measures, pain perception and pain processing therapies, as well as an optimal pharmaceutical application and mobilisation to improve functions. Additional therapies focus on the treatment of accompanying psychological factors. Here, depression, anxiety disorders, malfunctions in the perception of pain and pain processing problems play a special role. Behavioral therapies come into play. The problem of social factors in the environment of the patients, whether in the family, in everyday life or at work will be incorporated into the therapy. The doctors and psychologists at the Schön Klinik Harthausen have, in the past six years, worked hard in this area and have shown that therapies for chronic pain patients have very positive results. The results of multimodal pain therapy are scientifically processed and have gained official recognition at the German Pain Congresses (Deutschen Schmerzkongressen).

Rehabilitation from rheumatic illnesses and after rheumatism surgery operations.

Our occupational therapists work in a special way towards the rehabilitative treatment of inflammatory joint illnesses. This is not just about exercising painful or deformed joints, but also about adapting the individually tailored splints. In this way, we can achieve a good level of functional stability and the restoration of every day life skills. Our occupational therapists will allso take care of your medical aids for your home. For after your rehabilitation you should feel as well possible in your own environment.

Special vascular rehabilitation after vascular surgery and after limb amputations.

At the beginning of rehabilitation measures for vascular diseases, a thorough examination is carried out. Our diagnostics will ensure that all measures are tailored to your individual situation. Patients with blood diseases, in particular, often suffer from additional accompanying diseases. Due to the collaboration of specialist teams with extensive experience in vascular surgery and internal angiology, we can ensure optimal rehabilitation treatment. The fact that we can admit our patients from partner clinics shortly after surgery is particularly important. If rehabilitation is not possible, such patients are still admitted to our hospital. We begin with early rehabilitation therapy. Then we can continue with a classic follow-up treatment rehabilitation. Intensive physiotherapy and training therapy measures are very much in the foreground. Depending on the complaint, treatment is carried out using a playpen, treadmill therapy or Nordic Walking or medical training therapy. In many cases, existing underlying conditions, such as diabetes or hypertension and aterosclerosis must be optimally adjusted. Rapid improvements in the state of the wound can be achieved, for example by disinfecting therapies and with bath therapies stimulating blood circulation, even for poorly healing wounds, such as after amputation. A particular focus concerns the fitting of prosthetics and training with the prosthesis after amputation.

Outpatient - partial inpatient rehabilitation.

All the therapeutic options of inpatient rehabilitation are also available for our outpatient and partial inpatient rehabilitation patients. Sufficient mobility should be ensured so that arriving at the hospital in the morning and returning home at night does not cause any problems. Outpatient and partial inpatient rehabilitation methods are carried out mostly for younger patients and patients who have had minimally invasive or arthroscopic surgery operations.

Inpatient treatment procedures / cures.

The stabilisation of muscles, functional treatment and the training of health-conscious behaviour are at the forefront of inpatient treatment procedures and preventative rehabilitation. Relaxation measures are also used, such as dry physiotherapy treatments, treatments in the physiotherapy pool and training therapy.
