Committed and competent. Our employees
Irrespective of whether employees work in the medical service, therapy and care, on reception or in the building services. They believe in what they do. In a survey nine out of ten employees stressed: "My work has a special meaning to me and is not just a job. "An attitude, which our patients are able to sense each day.
Including our four consultants we have 53 doctors in the hospital giving an excellent average care ratio of five patients to one doctor. For all important subfaculties in neurology we have separate specialists and our consultants and speciality registrars with their many years' of experience cover the whole spectrum of neurology and each year even develop a new area of expertise, e.g. 2010 Botulinum toxin in the treatment of spasticity, 2009 Specialisation in paraplegia, 2008 Neurourology, 2007 Tracheotomies in intensive care patients.
In order to guarantee the present highest standard in patient care, our doctors undertake studies and actively take part in research projects from external cooperation partners. We consider it an important obligation to continually broaden our horizons of experience by taking part in innovative clinical studies.
Our nursing staff
Care has a special significance in our clinic. It is material to the activation of patients - even in the intensive care ward. To make it clear what their work is, they are called "Care Therapists" in our hospital. As part of activating care, they involve patients in actions and instruct them on how to look after themselves. For this very challenging work, employees are always undergoing further training.
Our therapists work in many different areas: a patient's musculoskeletal system, his cerebral functions, his mind or his speech and swallowing capabilities. The patient regains his abilities again with therapeutic help, which have been limited as a result of neurological illness or accident. Their aim: To guide the patient back to an independent life as far as possible. They achieve this goal with very good results: 89.8% of patients are satisfied or very satisfied according to our quality assessment in terms of achieving their therapy aim.
What make our therapies so successful?
- the therapists' excellent diagnostic equipment,
- the application of innovative and classic therapy concepts,
- updating the contents of therapy based on the latest research results,
- Coverage of specialist areas by specialised teams because this can deepen knowledge.
Service providers in our clinic
So that our patients can get the very best treatment, a lot of jobs are needed, which are not apparent at first but without which things would not function, e.g. ward assistants and laboratory technicians, cleaning staff, hospital technicians and service workers, receptionists and kitchen and administrative staff. We have much to thank them for with regard to their commitment and continuous willingness to make improvements, and also that our clinic is the first throughout Bavaria to receive official certification for its services.
Our colleagues in the entire Schön Klinik
Schön Klinik Bad Aibling belongs to the Schön Klinik group of clinics. Our 17 hospitals and the central administration are considered as one big hospital, a learning organisation in which 8800 employees interact with each other on a daily basis. This means for example that we can put into practice good ideas and proposals for improvements not only from our clinic but from the whole Schön Klinik group to make improvements each day.
